The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) conducted its annual Certification and Safety Inspection of Wichita Mid-Continent Airport this week. Airport officials are pleased to report that zero (0) discrepancies were found in the inspection. The inspection covers such areas as airport emergency response capability, airfield maintenance and inspection program, notice to airmen procedures, fueler training, wildlife management, and personnel training programs. The certification inspection was conducted this year by the FAA Central Region’s Lead Certification Inspector. The Inspector was very complementary of the airport organization, procedures and facilities.
“My sincere compliments and congratulations go out to all of our Airport Operations, Maintenance and Police & Fire staffs that have again made it possible to complete this critically important and thorough inspection with no discrepancies,” said Victor White, A.A.E., Director of Airports. White said, “They are to be commended for their hard work and diligence in making this possible. This achievement is a testament to their commitment to a high level of safety, especially considering the current economic environment, and the resulting budget reductions in our Department. We continue to maintain the same level of outstanding safety and security for our airport system as we have in the past, often times with fewer resources.”
