During the month of March, 64,650 people flew out of Wichita Eisenhower National Airport, an increase of nearly 19% over March 2022. Demand for travel continues to outpace capacity. Seats increased just 7% and flights 4%. There were 129,352 total passengers in March, an increase of 17.80% from last year. The March enplanements increased 55% over 2021, 75% over 2020, but were down 10% from March 2019 when travel demand was strong. There were 28 average weekday departures in March compared to 26 last year.
Increased passengers lead to increased revenue. Food and gift concessions increased 18.69%; rental cars 10.54%, and parking 2.82%.
Outbound air cargo decreased 15% and inbound cargo decreased 7%.
