Wichita Mid-Continent Airport was ranked the top 26th most affordable airport in the US with an average fare of $409, according to a survey conducted by Cheapflights.com. Wichita dropped one spot in this year’s list. Last year Wichita was ranked No. 25 out of 101 of the most popular airports.
Cheapflights.com, a website that helps travelers find flight deals, did a survey in June to find the cheapest airports in the country. In their 2012 Airport Affordability Index, the website ranked the 101 most popular US airports based on their airfare affordability. The findings were based on average airfares that users found while searching for flight deals to the most popular domestic and international destinations during the month of June.
The study proves that there are great deals at Wichita Mid-Continent Airport. What is surprising yet pleasing is how Wichita compares to other regional airports:
