We always love to celebrate employees of Wichita Eisenhower National Airport. These three particular employees have recently accomplished milestones in their careers.
Roger Xanders | Chief of Airport Police and Fire
Roger recently passed the Airport Master Firefighter written examination. He is the third member of our current Airport Police and Fire Division staff to pass this exam and earn the designation of Airport Master Firefighter (AMF). There are only 3 AMF’s in the state of Kansas, all within our Airport Police and Fire division. These include Officer Joel Potter, Lt. Lloyd Youel, and now Chief Roger Xanders. To achieve this certification, Roger had to study a variety of materials in the enhanced Airport Rescue and Firefighting (ARFF) body of knowledge and pass a rigorous examination that covered all elements of managing an airport fire department, emergency management principles and also a basic understanding of airport administration and management.
Victor White, A.A.E. | Director of Airports
Victor received the American Association of Airport Executives’ (AAAE) Distinguished Service Award, which is presented to airport executives in honor of an exemplary career and contributions to the airport industry. This is one of AAAE’s highest levels of recognition of its executive accredited members. It is a reflection of outstanding accomplishments in both professional and personal lives with contributions to other aviation organizations, service to AAAE and its regional chapters, and participation in civic and community affairs throughout a member’s career. The award is presented to those who exemplify the best in airport management by bringing credit to the professional and the aviation community and for those who set the standards of the profession.
Alex Tsakr | Airport Operations Officer
Alex is the newest recipient of the ACE certification from the American Association of Airport Executives’ (AAAE). The test consists of 150 questions over multiple subjects pertaining to Airport Operations. This is a significant step in any Operations Officer’s career path. This program is designed to educate and challenge personnel with airfield operations responsibilities. There is a large body of knowledge pertaining to federal regulations, inspection requirements, and safety and certification obligations of an airport that Alex had to study in order to pass a rigorous examination.
Congratulations Roger, Victor, and Alex! Wichita Eisenhower National Airport is so proud of your accomplishments.
